Be prepared! Those who are living, working or vacationing in hurricane zones should take advantage of the advanced warning these storms provide and prepare or evacuate accordingly. Hurricanes can cause catastrophic damage to coastlines and extend several hundred miles inland. Extreme flooding, damaging winds and heavy rain are also a cause for concern.
