One recent game day, a major league baseball stadium in New York received a call from a concerned mother whose 18-year-old son with autism left the house at 2 p.m. and had not been seen for hours. Knowing he is a huge baseball fan and there was a game taking place, the mother had a feeling her son would be in or near the stadium. When notified, Canine Handler Figueroa immediately shared that he had seen the young man earlier in the day outside a stadium gate. Staff in the stadium’s command center reviewed camera angles and located the teen in the parking lot as the game ended. He was reunited with his mother shortly after.
