Security Professional Aaron Salter, Jr. made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting shoppers at Tops Friendly Market in Buffalo, New York. When a gunman wearing tactical gear armed with an assault rifle entered the grocery store, Security Professional Aaron confronted the attacker firing multiple shots, one which struck the 18-year-old attacker’s body armor. Security Professional Aaron was tragically killed by the return fire when he was trying to protect others. His acts were able to slow down the assault and gave time for others to move to safety.

Security Professional Confiscates Nearly 40 Fake IDs in New Jersey

More specifically, Security Professional Alex helped prevent several unauthorized individuals from entering the facility after another site reported attempts to access the site with unauthorized IDs. Security Professional Alex assisted in confiscating 39 fake IDs and helped institute a new process for ensuring only authorized individuals gain access to the property.

Security Professional Performs First Aid on Choking Coworker

Security Professional Denise went to the lobby to cover for her coworker who was about to go on a break. Upon arrival, she found her coworker choking and turning blue. Security Professional Denise immediately put her first-aid training to use by performing the Heimlich maneuver to dislodge the obstruction. The victim soon began breathing normally and recovered. Security Professional Denise’s swift response prevented what could have been a more serious incident.

Security Professional Uses Defibrillator to Save Man in Oregon

Security Professional Matthew encountered an unconscious adult male while patrolling a client site in Oregon. Security Professional Matthew immediately jumped into action and assessed the victim’s vital signs. He was unable to locate a pulse and determined the victim was not breathing. Shortly after, he began chest compressions for several minutes and utilized an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) prior to the arrival of Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

Las Vegas Security Professional Helps Man Experiencing Seizure

While on duty in Las Vegas, Security Professional Jason observed a man who appeared to be disoriented. Security Professional Jason ran toward the man and caught him as he began to fall, preventing him from striking his head on a bench. When Security Professional Jason realized the man was suffering from a seizure, he laid the man down and cradled his head and arms to prevent damage to his neck for the duration of the seizure. After the seizure subsided, the man regained consciousness. Emergency Medical Services arrived shortly after to transport him to the hospital.

Security Professional Helps Reunite Missing Man with Family in Ontario

While on duty in London, Ontario, Security Professional Arshdeep found a male lying face down in a flower bed. She made several attempts to communicate with him, but he was disoriented and had difficulty responding to questions. Security Professional Arshdeep called the police and emergency medical services and stayed with the man until they arrived to care for him. Police identified the man as a missing person and reunited him with his family all thanks to Security Professional Arshdeep.

Security Professionals Newly Trained in CPR Save Ohio Woman’s Life

Security Professionals Noah and James were newly certified in CPR and on duty at a client site in Ohio when they were called to assist a woman having a panic attack. Security Professional Noah arrived on the scene first, but as he assessed the woman, she passed out and her breathing slowed and stopped. He Immediately began CPR. Security Professional Noah then went to the front of the facility to direct Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to the location.

Smart Mailroom Screening Mitigates Today’s Threats

The first recorded mail bomb was sent as part of the “Bandbox Plot” in 1712. It was named after a type of hatbox sent to Robert Harley, the Earl of Oxford and British lord treasurer. The box, with a thread fastened to the lid, contained three pistols set to shoot the recipient opening the box. According to the story, as the Earl began to open the box, author Jonathan Swift, who was also in the room, suspected foul play and disarmed the device.
